Adopt a First-Time Brewer
Hey everyone. I about to admit a little secret - I've never actually brewed before. Sure, I've toured many a brewery, read multiple beer blogs, and do my fair share of tasting, but I've never gotten my hands dirty or filled my house with the wonderful smell or wort. So 2012 is the year I get off my beer-drinking butt and give it a try.
Is anyone willing to let me follow along on a shopping trip and / or shadow them in making a batch or two? Would this be something that's appropriate for the Beer Week Brewout?
Thanks all! I hope that I'll have some drinkable samples to contribute to the meetings soon.

I'm sure you will find plenty of folks willing to help you. It would probably help to know where you are located and when you plan on shopping/brewing. We do have a brewout coming up in about a month where you will get to see several recipes be brewed in various ways. Welcome to the addiction!

I am currently planning on a batch, if not two, on Sunday January 29. There will likely be some other brewers there as well. I am in teh Ahwatukee area. Would be more than willing to show the process. Let me know!!

Thanks Christian and John. I am in Tempe so will probably be shopping at the Brewer's Connection once I get started. John, I'd love to join you on Sunday but I have the Mom in town next weekend. If I can convince her it will be fun - or give her a baking project - I'll be there ;-)
