Arizona Society of Homebrewers

Gonna do a little camping trip in conjunction with the beerfest. Me and some others have done this for the last couple of years and have a pretty kick ass spot. Close enough to be there in 15 minutes, but far enough away to not have to worry about lights-out or noise restriction rules.
I'll be heading up to Flag on Friday morning to set up camp. We will be out in the woods, so make sure to pack a tent and sleeping bag (or your RV if you're a comfort creature). And of course Homebrew.
This is not an ASH sponsored event, so everyone is free to make their own plans. But how I usually space the weekend is:
Friday- Hanging at camp, enjoying some good beers.
Saturday- Rolling to the fest to sample the offerings, then going into town to keep the party going.
Sunday- Packing up and heading home, stopping in Camp Verde for a well deserved Denny's breakfast.

So at the meeting last night, I got asked this question a lot:
If you don't want to camp, you can just come up for the day. We can meet up at the fest.
How cool would it be to have a huge group of us in our ASH shirts?

If you don't already have my #, shoot me a PM
The brewery list keeps getting bigger. I hope Brew Dog will break out some of the Penguin.
I'll be pouring at the festival for Sierra Nevada or whoever else they throw me to... See you guys there!
Do I need to make reservations for the camping spot?
What's the fee to camp?
I'm in, but won't be up there until Saturday morning. Could I get some additional directions to camp? I'm also going to try to bring my mountain bike so I can work off my hangover on the trails.
Sounds like there will be fire restrictions as of Wednesday, so no open campfires (bummer!) but it'll still be a good time!
No fee, it's out in the woods so no facilities. It's very close to town though, maybe a 10 minute drive and only one exit down from the fest.
It's just back on the road from the Kelly Canyon exit. Jeff is going to throw up the ASH banner to make the way easier to spot, but if I recall the road is pretty much the only way to go and we'll set up right off of it.

See you on Saturday. BTW, the fire is quite far away for the Fairgrounds. Say at least 20 miles.
UPDATE:

One exit south of the Kachina/Mountainaire exit is Kelly Canyon Road. That's the turn off. If you look at the link for directions in Satellite view and zoom in, you'll see that this will take you west into the woods. There is a forest road you will follow through a clearing, then past a giant sinkhole/crater. Unfortunately, google maps only follows the road this far, but I will have the ASH banner hung up pointing the way.
There is no cost for camping, as this is not a "developed" campground (ie: pee in the woods).

As of right now, the only flame sources allowed are the ones you can turn off. Camp stoves, lanterns and propane burners are OK. That means NO campfires or charcoal. It does cool down at night, so bring a jacket and warm sleeping bag.
just joined ASH today - see ya all at beer fest!
Welcome Jeremy! Always good to meet a fellow homebrewer
