I don't heat my house, running 65 and below. Put a stout in primary yesterday, need to get it warmed up. Can pick up, prefer east valley.

Are you just keeping it in the bathtub/closet or do you normally ferment in some kind of fridge with a temp controller? In the past when I've needed to heat I've just put a lamp with a 60W bulb in the fridge and use the heat cycle on my controller.

In a fridge. Johnson A419 temp sensor is in the freezer portion as it's used for serving temp. I have the bottom controlled by blocking some vents. I'll throw a lamp in there, see what happens, might need to re-locate temp sensor. Thx.

Obviously, if you are using a carboy you probably want to cover it with a dark t-shirt, garbage bag, etc. I'm not sure if incandescent lights give off much UV light but probably shouldn't risk it...
