Comment by Barry Tingleff on August 14, 2010 at 2:58pm: I'm Barry Tingleff & I will be team leader of the Black Pilsner, that I have not brewed before but excited to try & would love the help. I have a 3 tiered RIMS brewing tree that has never been out of my backyard. My hot liquor tank & boil kettle are converted kegs. My mash tun is a 52 qt. cooler w/ a copper coil heater in it, that I pump hot water from the hot liquor tank through the mash to raise the temp. I also do quite a few decoctions to raise mash temps. If Dieter doesn't mind & would like to do 1 if not 2 decoctions, both to show you how I do it & because I love the outcome. My system's tree is to large to fit into my Durango, so if someone with a pickup can help get it to Rob's on the 28th I would appriciate it.

I'm willing to bring my rig, though at 4 gallon batches I'm not sure it would be the best for this experiment. Also this will be my first lager, but my fermentation fridge should be able to handle it if needed.

On second thought, I could break down the 10 gallon HERMS rig if it's really needed, just let me know.
