John, your Belgian Dark Strong, 18e, won gold and your Belgian Tripel, 18c, won silver.

Can you please tell me what the subcategories are in 18 Belgian Strong Ale that I won a gold & silver in? I entered three of the subcategories and two placed but I didn't realize on the entry form that you wanted the beer's name so I entered my name.

Drinking?  You guys?  Sounds like a plan, thanks :)

Results of medals will be posted Saturday Afternoon after they are announced at Oktoberfest. We will all be drinking, so.... It might be Sunday.

Scoresheets will be available there and at club functions thereafter.

Wow!  That's alot of entries.  Thanks for all the hard work.  Question:  When will the results be posted?

Great job, Barry. Very well organized; went very smoothly on Sat. and I'm sure it went just as well on Sun.

Definitely. Great job herding the cats, Barry!

A Big Thanks to Barry Weeg and everyone involved in the 2011 Oktoberfest Homebrew Competition. Expecting 150 entries and getting over 300 was a lot of work. There is a lot of behind the scenes work to do for the organizer before and after the competition, thanks again to Barry, everything went smoothly. Thanks also to the judges who came out, many both Saturday and Sunday. See you all at Oktoberfest on the 22nd.

Prost!

Ken

Yipe! We have a bit of a problem. Overnight the number of entries for the Ofest Comp jumped up to 175! That is by far a new record for this event. As such, there is no way we're going to get this done in one day with the number of judges we have...not and drive home after. So we're going to have to extend the judging through Sunday. Please let Barry Weeg know if you are able to judge on Sunday as well either by email or a post in the forum. And you don't have to be there on Saturday to be able to judge on Sunday. Either day or both would be great. And please spread the word. Thanks.

Hi Barry! Sign me up for judging.

I have added one more location for DROP OFF ONLY! On Thursday October 13th from 6pm to 9pm, I will be at the clubhouse to take drop offs. DO NOT MAIL YOUR ENTRIES HERE as there will be nobody to pick them up. This three hour time window will be the ONLY time you will be able to drop your entries off at the clubhouse.

Same boat as Keevin. Willing to judge, but not BJCP certified.

I'm willing to judge those catagories I'm not entering. Took the BJCP exam and waiting for my score.
Comment by Keevin Simpson on September 21, 2011 at 8:53pm
As I noted in my other post, I would be happy to help judge for this event. I am not a BJCP judge, so would have to shadow someone...
