Comment by Barry Tingleff on March 29, 2011 at 9:55pm I just want to give a shout out to all AZ Mead Cup Committee members who worked so hard for the last 6 months to put this event together. I hope all the judges & stewards had a good time & hopefully learned a little more about mead & cyder. I believe this was the largest mead judging event & beer judging event ever in the state of AZ. We banged out 68 meads & 260+ beers in 2 days. Good job, thanks judges, we couldn't have done it without you. Not a bad first event for the new Clubhouse, too.
Prost, Barry

Comment by Barry Tingleff on February 11, 2011 at 5:02pm Hey ASH'ers have you contacted Sonja yet? We need your help with this event, even if you have never judged a mead or beer before. We will use you as a steward, which is the best job in the house. You get to try all the beers but only have to try the best ones if you want. A steward, assists the judges by bringing them the beer from the cellarmaster as needed & collect the scoresheets for the Competition Director. I will bet you a beer, you will make better beer or mead after attending the AZ Mead Cup.
If you are saying, "I don't know how to judge" we will teach you by pairing you with an experienced judge or two to show you the ropes. It's fun & you will learn from some of the most experienced judges in the state. Give it a try, you will be glad you did.
Comment by Kevin Masaryk on February 4, 2011 at 4:27pm Hello! Please let me know if you are available to help judge the Arizona Mead Cup or Great Arizona Homebrew Competition on the weekend of March 26th and 27th, 2011. I am coordinating the pool of Judges/Stewards for both events. Please send me at email at meadlady@gmail.com.
See you there!
